Co-Editor, David V. Loertscher

Dr. David Loertscher, an important and well-respected leader in school librarianship across the world, was president of the American Association of School Librarians (AASL, 1995-1996), during the development and writing of the standards and the development of School Library Media Research (the online journal) and Knowledge Quest (the practitioner journal of AASL). Loertscher has written and presented extensively on a variety of topics in the field of library and information science and is currently president of Hi Willow Research & Publishing, which focuses on providing professional resources for the school library media specialist.

Co-Editor, Elizabeth “Betty” Marcoux

Elizabeth “Betty” Marcoux, a part-time faculty member of the Information School, University of Washington, is well known in the national community for her work with under-served populations and young community members regarding their access to information. Recently she worked with the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) to develop a new youth librarian certification that encompasses young adult information behavior understandings. She has also worked with the Maryland Department of Education to vet their new state standards for school libraries, and has been working with various Illinois school librarians to develop strategies for organizing and communicating evidence of interest to decision makers. She is bilingual in Spanish and English, having lived and studied in South America and Mexico as well as the United States.
