An organization of educators
and friends of school libraries. The ATLC promotes the
profession of teacher-librarianship and provides teacher-librarians
with a national voice in education and library communities.
Canadian
Association of Children's Librarians (CACL)
The CACL focuses on issues
of particular interest to librarians working with and
for children. CACL administers the Book of the Year for
Children Award and the Amelia Frances Howard-Gibbon Illustrator's
Award.

School Library Association (CSLA)
A division of the Canadian
Library Association, the CSLA provides teacher-librarians,
library technicians and library assistants in schools
across Canada with a site that provides access to a wealth
of pertinent information related to the provision of
quality school library programs and service in Canada.

Teacher's Association Learning Resources Council
The Learning Resource Council
of the Alberta Teachers' Association is a specialist
council that provides professional leadership for quality
teaching and learning through school libraries.

Columbia Library Association Young Adults and
Children's Services
We are a section of the
British Columbia Library Association. Founded in 1980
our members include librarians, teacher-librarians and
others interested in services to youth in B.C. Public
Libraries. Includes a Vancouver chapter, the Vancouver
Teacher-Librarians' Association (VTLA)

libraries. The MSLA on the Internet web page is an online
resource developed by the MSLA for the benefit of its

Our objectives include establishing the concept that
school libraries are fundamental to quality education
and to information literacy, securing recognition that
school libraries must be properly staffed and securely
funded, increasing cooperation between teachers and teacher-librarians
by promoting cooperative programme planning and cooperative
teaching and campaigning for uniform standards of school
library service throughout Nova Scotia and for the maintenance
of such standards at a high level.

The OLA is a personal
member organization. Membership is open to anybody who
works in libraries or is a trustee of an Ontario public
library. OLA also has a friends category for those individuals
who are not directly connected to libraries, but support
the activities of the Association.
